“Y” in Family

Whale for Blog

For the past 4 days, Dianne and I gathered up our families on Cape Cod. Some 30 lovelies adjusted to 26 due to 1 precious grand enduring arm cuts which impeded travel. Wandering among them at ocean, beach, picnic, salt water swim, play and sand ventures; a robust Pig Roast; whale watch 4 hour cruise (saw 35 of those handsome animals); hotel breakfast and large pool swimming; heaps of warm casual conversations–all coalesced to be powerful affirmation of the value of gathering family.

Dianne and I took deep breaths as all peeled away to California, Ohio, Florida, Massachusetts and Maine. Hugs and Thank You’s were boundless.

Set us musing about the “Y” of making the money, arranging a time and organizing to bring family together. Our answer includes a heartfelt reminder of the fact that our 8 children combined are good people-good parents-good neighbors-good friends-good citizens.

Breathing all that in up close and personal is deeply satisfying and, for sure, defines the “Y” in family. I encourage you to reach out to your own family and do a shout out confirming the love which bonds you all. Go ahead. Take that step.
